Agusta was founded in 1923 by Count Giovanni Agusta in Passignano sul Trasimeno, Italy. Originally focused on aircraft manufacturing, the company shifted its focus to helicopters in the post-World War II era. Agusta gained international prominence with the development of several successful helicopter models, including the A109 and the AB412. In 2000, Agusta merged with the Italian aerospace company, Finmeccanica, which later rebranded as Leonardo S.p.A., further enhancing its global reach and product offerings.
