This printer has been designed to be trouble free. However, if a problem
should occur, note the display message and take the appropriate action.
This section describes the actions to be taken to avoid paper jams and
unsatisfactory printouts.

Paper Jam

If paper jams inside the printer, it will stop printing and display the following
message.

X (Display)

Meaning

JAM A1/A2

Paper jam occurred inside of the paper tray.

JAM B

Paper jam occurred in the Upper Assembly of the
Duplex Unit.

JAM C

Paper jam occurred in the Lower Assembly of the
Duplex Unit.

JAM D

Paper jam occurred at the Transfer Roller.

JAM E1

Paper jam occurred at the paper exit.

JAM E2

Paper jam occurred at the entrance to the Fusing
Roller.

If more than two places appear in the LCD, clear one by one by following
the steps in ‘How to Clear a Paper Jam in the Printer’.

Remove the jammed paper.
