Duplex unit (DX-2700)

The duplex unit is an optional device that allows you to print on both sides of a piece of paper. You can 
print on Letter, A4, B5 (JIS/ISO), Executive, A5 and Legal size paper. When it is installed, you can select 
either duplex printing or simplex printing on the control panel or with a software command. See 

PAPER

 

on page 3-11 for details about the menu setting.

How to install the duplex unit

Caution

When moving or lifting this printer, keep the printer flat. To avoid spills, you must first remove the 
toner cartridges and waste toner pack.

Turn off the printer power switch and unplug the printer.

Remove the duplex upper cover, duplex lower cover and duplex cap at the back of the printer. We 
recommend removing the covers and the cap with a coin or a screwdriver.

Remove the protective parts.

This printer is heavy and weighs approximately 31.5 kg (69.4 lb). To prevent injuries, use at 
least two people to lift the printer.

When you lift the printer, be sure to use the handholds at the bottom four corners of the printer.

Do not carry the printer when the lower tray unit and/or the duplex unit are attached.
