Comcast was founded in 1963 by Ralph Roberts, Daniel Aaron, and Julian A. Brodsky as a single-system cable operation in Tupelo, Mississippi. Over the decades, the company expanded rapidly through acquisitions and mergers, becoming one of the leading telecommunications companies in the country. In 2002, Comcast became the largest cable television provider in the United States, and it continued to grow by acquiring other media properties, including NBCUniversal in 2011.
