Jaguar's origins trace back to 1922 when it was founded as the Swallow Sidecar Company by Sir William Lyons and William Walmsley. The company transitioned to manufacturing cars in the 1930s, adopting the Jaguar name in 1945. Over the decades, Jaguar has established itself as a symbol of luxury and performance, producing iconic models such as the XK120, E-Type, and more recently, the F-Type and I-PACE electric SUV. The brand has undergone various ownership changes, including a period under Ford and later as part of Tata Motors since 2008.
