Homelite was founded in 1921 in New York City by the entrepreneur, H. Charles H. 'Charlie' R. Stokes. Originally, the company specialized in manufacturing and selling portable gasoline-powered tools. Over the decades, Homelite became a leader in the outdoor power equipment industry, particularly known for its innovations in chain saw technology. In 1994, Homelite was acquired by the Techtronic Industries Company Limited (TTI), which has since expanded its product line and global reach.
