Hotpoint was founded in 1911 by George H. Cummings in the United States, initially focusing on electric appliances. The brand gained significant recognition for its electric washing machine, which was one of the first of its kind. Over the years, Hotpoint expanded its product line and became a subsidiary of General Electric in the 1920s. In 2000, the brand was sold to the Whirlpool Corporation, which continues to produce Hotpoint appliances in various markets around the world.
