SecuriLock
T
Passive
Anti-Theft System*
The SecuriLock
T
passive anti-theft
system provides an advanced level of
vehicle theft protection. Your vehicle’s
engine can only be started with the two
special SecuriLock
T
electronically
coded keys provided with your vehicle.
Each time you start your vehicle, the
SecuriLock
T
key is read by the Securi-
Lock
T
passive anti-theft system. If the
SecuriLock
T
key identification code
matches the code stored in the Securi-
Lock
T
passive anti-theft system, the
vehicle’s engine is allowed to start. If the
SecuriLock
T
key identification code
does not match the code stored in the
system or if a SecuriLock
T
key is not

detected (vehicle theft situation), the
vehicle’s engine will not operate.
If there is any potential SecuriLock
T
anti-theft problem with your vehicle,
ensure
ALL SecuriLock
T
keys
for that
vehicle are brought to the dealership, to
aid in troubleshooting.
The SecuriLock
T
passive anti-theft sys-
tem is not compatible with aftermarket
remote start systems. Use of these sys-
tems may result in vehicle starting prob-
lems and a loss of security protection.
Large metallic objects or devices such as
the Mobil Speedpass
T
on the same key
ring as your SecuriLock
T
key may
cause vehicle starting problems. These
objects and devices cannot damage
the SecuriLock
T
key, but can cause a
momentary problem if they are too close
to the key when starting the engine. If a
problem occurs, turn ignition off and
restart the engine with all other objects
on the key ring held away from the Secu-
riLock
T
ignition key.
Spare SecuriLock
T
keys can be pur-
chased from your dealership and
programmed to your SecuriLock
T
passive anti-theft system. Refer to
‘‘Pro-
gramming spare SecuriLock
T
keys’’
for more information.
If one or both of your SecuriLock
T
keys
are lost or stolen and you want to ensure
the lost or stolen key will not operate
your vehicle, bring your vehicle and all
available SecuriLock
T
keys to your
dealership for reinitialization.
