WARNING

Seat Belts:
Make sure that you and your pas-
sengers, including pregnant women,
wear seat belts. Be sure that the
lap belt portion of your seat belt
fits snugly and as low as possible
around the hips. If seat belts are not
used properly, the risk of you or
your passengers being injured in a
collision greatly increases. In a
rollover crash, an unbelted person
is significantly more likely to die
than a person wearing a seat belt.

WARNING

Always drive and ride with your
seatback upright and the lap belt
portion of your seat belt snug and
low across the hips. This will reduce
the risk of serious injury to the
abdomen or neck that could be
caused by sliding under the seat
belts in a collision.

WARNING

Damaged Seat Belts:
An accident can damage a seat belt
in use. The belt webbing can be
weakened and retractors and anchors
can be bent or broken. Therefore, a
damaged seat belt may not provide
adequate protection in a collision.
Have a professional inspect all seat
belt systems in use during an acci-
dent before they are used again.
