Stop on the desired song, artist, album or playlist and 

press down on the Commander control to play

Commander control to the right to select the “now playing” music from the Adaptive Task Bar

Press the Commander control down to open the media app that is currently in use

Rotate the Commander control to the recently used app bar

Then, 

rotate the Commander control to highlight an app, and press down to select
