ADVANCED KEYLESS  
ENTRY SYSTEM

  •  This system allows you to lock and  
    unlock the doors, open the trunk lid,  
    open the windows, and even start 

 

    the engine.

While Carrying the Advanced Key…

  •    

Unlock the driver’s door

 by 

pushing the driver’s door request 
switch once.

  •   

Unlock all doors

 by pushing the 

driver’s door request switch twice 
OR by pushing the passenger’s door 
request switch.

  •   

Open the trunk

 by pushing the 

trunk request switch.

  •   

Lock all doors

 by pushing the 

driver’s door or passenger door 
request switch once.

  •   

Open the front windows

 by 

pushing the unlock button on the 
advanced keyless entry transmitter 
and then pushing again and holding; 
release to stop.

  •   

Close front windows and  
moon roof

 by pushing and holding 

the driver’s door request switch; 
release to stop.

Trunk Request Switch

STARTING THE ENGINE

While Carrying the Advanced Key…

  •   

Start the engine

 by pushing the start knob in and turning it (like a 

normal key) while pushing the clutch pedal (manual transmission) or 

 

the brake pedal (automatic transmission).

  •   

Shut the engine OFF

 by turning the start knob to the ACC position 

and then pushing in and turning to the Lock position.

  •   The key 

 indicator light will show 

GREEN

 when the advanced key 

is detected. If the key indicator light flashes 

GREEN

, the advanced key 

transmitter battery power is low.

  •

  

If the advanced key cannot be used due to a malfunction or dead 

advanced key battery, use the auxiliary key to lock/unlock the doors 

and to start the engine.

KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM

This system remotely locks and unlocks the doors, the trunk, and opens the 

power windows. 

Opening the Windows 

  Push 

• 

, then push again 

and hold; release to stop.

Release Button 

 To extend the key, push 

• 

the release button.
 To retract the key, push 

• 

the release button 

 

and fold the key back 

into the holder.

With the Auxiliary Key…

To start engine, remove the Start 
knob cover by pushing both release 
buttons and pulling the cover off.

Insert the auxiliary key into the key 
cylinder and turn it to start the engine.

Locking the Doors

Push 

• 

 x 1: Locks all of 

 

the doors.
  Push

 x 2 (within 5 

 

seconds): Horn sounds 

 

to verify doors are locked.

Panic Alarm

Push

 for 1 second 

or more to activate the 

vehicle’s alarm. The horn 

 

will sound intermittently 

and the warning lights will 

flash for 2-1/2 minutes or 

until any button is pushed 

on the transmitter.

Unlocking the Doors

  Push 

• 

 x 1: Unlock 

 

the driver’s door.
  Push 

• 

 x 2 (within 5 

seconds): Unlocks all of 

the doors and liftgate.

Opening the Trunk

    Push and hold
