Founded in 1928, Motorola originally began as a manufacturer of car radios. Over the decades, it grew to become a prominent player in the electronics and telecommunications industries, known for pioneering developments such as the first handheld mobile phone and the first commercial mobile phone network. Motorola underwent significant transformations, including a split into two separate companies in 2011: Motorola Mobility, focusing on consumer products, and Motorola Solutions, focusing on enterprise solutions. In 2014, Google acquired Motorola Mobility, and it was later sold to Lenovo in 2016.
