PalmOne originated from the original Palm, Inc., which was founded in 1992. The company initially focused on developing PDAs, and by the early 2000s, it had established itself as a leader in the handheld market. In 2003, Palm, Inc. restructured and created PalmOne to focus on hardware, while the software division continued under the original name. PalmOne continued to innovate with products like the Palm Treo smartphone, which combined phone and PDA functionalities. In 2005, PalmOne rebranded itself back to Palm, Inc.
