4.2.2 Traf
fi
c settings
The recommended route is not always the same between two points. Whenever suitable data
exists, traf
fi
c information can be taken into account in the route calculation.
Button
Description
Use this switch to enable or disable historical traf
fi
c data and traf
fi
c
patterns. This locally stored information can be very useful in normal
circumstances but for example on public holidays it may be better to turn
off in order not to take into account normal weekday traf
fi
c jams.
Use this switch to enable or disable receiving real-time traf
fi
c information
online. The rest of the buttons below are all related to this real-time
information and are available only if receiving is enabled.
You can also de
fi
ne whether to receive online traf
fi
c via the 3G network or
only when connected to a WiFi network.
This setting determines how the navigation system uses the received real-
time traf
fi
c information in route calculation. When calculating a new route,
or when recalculation becomes necessary based on the received Traf
fi
c
events, the navigation system avoids traf
fi
c events if it makes sense.
You can also set the minimum delay that triggers route recalculation, and
you can instruct the application if you want to con
fi
rm every recalculation.
When setting a route in consideration of traf
fi
c information, a time
setting is available which indicates the amount of possible time savings
obtainable by making a detour.
