One key is used for the
ignition and all locks.
When a new vehicle is delivered, the key has a
bar-coded key tag. This tag may be removed
by your dealer before it is delivered.
The vehicle has the PASS-Key
®
III vehicle theft
system. The key has a transponder in the
key head that matches a decoder in the vehicle’s
instrument panel. The key will have PK3 stamped
on it. If a replacement key or an additional key
is needed, it must be purchased from your dealer
or certified locksmith.
Any new PASS-Key
®
III key must be programmed
before it will start the vehicle. See
III on page 106
for more information on
programming a new key.
In an emergency, contact Roadside Assistance.
See
Roadside Assistance Program on page 484
for more information.
Notice:
If you ever lock your keys in your
vehicle, you may have to damage the vehicle
to get in. Be sure you have spare keys.
