WARNING

Downshifting on Slippery
Surfaces:
Downshifting into 1 (First) gear
with a manual transmission or into
L (Low) with an automatic trans-
mission while driving on slippery
surfaces could be dangerous. The
sudden change in tire speed could
cause the tires to skid. This could
lead to loss of vehicle control and
an accident. If it is necessary to
downshift on slippery surfaces, be
very careful.

WARNING

Rear Antilock Brake System:
The rear antilock brake system
may not prevent brake lock-up on
extremely slippery surfaces. Rear
brake lock-up may also occur while
driving in 4-wheel drive because the
transfer case couples the front and
rear axles together.

t

Limited slip differential rear axle*

This axle provides added drive away
traction on slippery surfaces, particu-
larly when one or more wheels is on a
surface with poor traction.

WARNING

Limited Slip Differential Rear Axle:
To avoid injury from vehicles equip-
ped with a limited slip differential
rear axle, never run the engine with
one wheel off the ground, such as
when changing a tire. The wheel
still on the ground could cause the
vehicle to move.
