1. When installing a rear-facing child

restraint, it may be necessary to move
the front seat forward to properly install
per the child restraint manufacturer
instructions. See

2. For rear outboard seating positions,

if the head restraint interferes with the
proper installation of the child restraint,
the head restraint may be removed. See

Head Restraint/Headrest Removal and

Reinstallation

at the end of this section.

3. If the child restraint manufacturer's

instructions recommend that the top
tether be attached, attach the top tether
to the top tether anchor. Refer to the
child restraint instructions and the
following steps:
3.1. Release and pull the rear seatback

forward to access the top tether
anchors. See

3.2. Put the child restraint on the seat.
3.3. Route the top tether according to

your child restraint instructions and
the following instructions:

If the position you are using does
not have a head restraint and you
are using a single tether, route the
tether over the seatback.

If the position you are using has a
fixed head restraint and you are
using a single tether, route the
tether around the inboard or
outboard side of the head restraint.

If the position you are using does
not have a head restraint and you
are using a dual tether, route the
tether over the seatback.
