Cleaning the Wheels
Your aluminum wheels are coated with a
clear protective finish.
NOTE
S
Use only a mild soap or neutral
detergent and always use a sponge
or soft cloth to clean the wheels.
Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm
or cold water. Also, be sure to
clean the wheels after driving on
salted roads. This helps prevent
corrosion.

S
Do not use acid-based or alcohol-
based wheel cleaners, steel wool,
fuel or strong detergents. Never
use abrasives that will damage the
finish of special wheel surfaces.
Use a tar remover to remove
grease and tar.
S
The brushes used in some auto-
matic car washes may damage the
finish on your wheels. Before
going to a car wash, find out if
the brushes are abrasive.
S
If your aluminum wheels lose
luster, wax the wheels.
J
Dashboard Precautions
Prevent caustic solutions such as perfume
and cosmetic oils from contacting the
dashboard. They’ll damage and discolor
it. If these solutions get on the dashboard,
wipe them off immediately.
