Seats and Restraints
Warning (Continued)
The shoulder belt will not be
against your body. Instead, it will
be in front of you. In a crash, you
could go into it, receiving neck or
other injuries.
The lap belt could go up over
your abdomen. The belt forces
would be there, not at your pelvic
bones. This could cause serious
internal injuries.
For proper protection when the
vehicle is in motion, have the
seatback upright. Then sit well
back in the seat and wear the
seat belt properly.
Do not have a seatback reclined if
the vehicle is moving.
Seatback Latches
To fold the seatback, lift the release
lever and fold the seatback forward.
The seat will slide forward.
To raise, lift the seatback to its
upright position until the seat locks.
The seat will slide back to the
original position.
In case the seatback cannot fold
and is blocked by the head restraint,
move the seat backward or
downward slightly, or adjust the
head restraint to a lower position.
See
or
Obstructions
If the seat encounters an
obstruction or resistance while
sliding forward or backward, the
action is stopped and the seat will
move in the opposite direction.
