Installing Brother Internet Fax Printing Driver

Insert the CD-ROM supplied with your Brother machine into your CD-ROM Drive. The installer screen will 
automatically start.

Note

If the installer screen does not appear automatically, select 

Start/Run

 and type 

X:/setup.exe

.

(

X:/

 should be the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive on your PC)

Next you will be presented with the licensing agreement, please carefully read the agreement and make the 
necessary choice.

During the installation you are 
presented with the following screen, 
select the default unless you have 
previously installed this software. If this 
is the case use a port number that has 
not been previously configured. 
Example BFP2

You also need to enter certain 
information into the printer driver dialog 
screen.

It is very important that you enter your 
own E-mail address. You also need to 
configure the SMTP mail server IP 
address or Node Name.

If in any doubt contact your Network Administrator for assistance.

When Installing BFP on Windows

2000/XP and Windows NT

®

 4.0 

operating systems we recommend 
that you add a “:” to the end of the 
port name.

This can be the Node 
Name or IP address of 
the E-mail server

Here you can enter the default E-mail 
address of the print server or you can 
leave it blank.

* If an address is specified here this 

will always be used as default
