STEP1 Before using the printer

Name

Function

ON/OFF button

Turns ON/OFF the printer. The ON/OFF button includes a LED light, which 

indicates the printer status. Below are the status LED indications:

Print button

Starts printing.

Cut button

Cuts the printed label. This button is used when "Auto Cut" is set to "OFF".

Feed button

•

When using DK Labels (pre-cut labels), feeds the DK Label to the edge of 

label.

When pressing this button more than one second, the DK Label is fed to the 

next label.

When using DK Tape (Continuous tape), feeds DK Tape by 1" (25.4mm).

•

When the DK Roll is not set, this printer enters cleaning mode and the roller 

spins by 1/3" (8 mm). When pressing this button for more than one second, 

the roller spins by 4" (10 cm).

Menu button

Switches between Time Display mode and Menu Selection mode

In order to avoid changing the template setting mistakenly, the Menu 
button can be locked. For details, refer to

page 42.

Cancel button

Cancels the current setting and returns to the previous mode or screen

OK button

Accepts the mode or setting entered

Up/down arrow

LED lamp

Status

Not lit

Power is OFF

Lit

Power is ON

Blinks rapidly

An error has occurred.

Blinks slowly

The printer is processing information.

Turns OFF after 

blinking 10 times

A system error has occurred.

Turn the QL-650TD off and then on again.

If this error re-occurs, contact the retail outlet where the 

QL-650TD was purchased or contact Brother Customer 

Service at 1-877-BROTHER.
