When loading paper in the multi-purpose tray, make sure it 
touches the back of the tray and remains below the maximum 
paper mark (

While pressing the [blue] paper-guide release lever, slide the 
paper guide to fit the paper size.

When you print on special paper such as envelopes, thick paper, 
labels, and so on, open the face-up output tray to print face up. See 
Printing on envelopes (Face-up printing)
 or Printing on labels, 
transparencies and other special paper
 in this chapter.  

Make sure that the paper is neatly stacked and in the proper 
position on the multi-purpose tray. If it is not, the paper may 
not be fed correctly, resulting in a skewed printout or a paper 
jam.
