1. Attach presser foot J, press 

[Straight (Left)], set the

stitch length to 5/32" (4.0 mm) and select a weak thread

tension.

2. Pull up the bobbin thread (See page 27 for details.), turn off

automatic thread cutting and automatic reverse/
reinforcement stitching, sew a straight stitch, and then pull
the bobbin thread to obtain the desired amount of gather.

3. Place the tape on top of the seam that you have just sewn

and secure it with pins.

4. Press

and sew along the top of the tape.

5. Pull out the straight stitch threads.
